Glyphosate: our enemy

Today we bring up great news for the people living in the United States of America and for the environment.
Every year more studies come up showing the devastating effects of glyphosate on humans and ultimately every living thing on this planet.

WHAT IS GLYPHOSATE?
If you don’t know what glyphosate is, you could define it as one of those products that is not supposed to be in anything consumable by living things, yet it’s in foods most Americans eat daily, from oats to Oreos, glyphosate has been found in a variety of household products.
One product with high amounts of the pesticide glyphosate is finally being pulled off the market. The decision comes after the company that makes it is facing more than 30000 legal claims from customers who said using the product, results in cancer.
“This move is being made exclusively to manage litigation risk and not because of any safety concerns,” the company said when it announced its decision.

Still, the company’s pulling of this and other products containing glyphosate is a huge and historic victory for public health and the environment.
Although the claims against the pesticide-containing product are almost entirely regarding cancer and individual affliction, it’s believed this ingredient (and other pesticides) hurt the environment just as much.
A while back we did a piece on the Tampa Bay red tide, where we talked about the use of pesticides especially in areas near water bodies, since washing off these to sea can cause fish kills, among other issues.
If you still use or know anyone who uses products with glyphosate, it’s about time you get rid of them. You’ll be doing yourself and the environment, a favor.
